GUIDE: How to tag an asset properly with collections [Next patch will fix this <3]
UPDATE: I just read in the paradox forum that the next patch will tag newly imported assets properly <3
http://forum.paradoxplaza.com/forum/showthread.php?843457-Steam-Workshop-tags
I hope this will come soon :3

Heyho community,

many of you really don't like the situation the the tags right now. The tags are not working for single assets and that why we have a crowded "building" tag. There are now over 4000 buildings and no one can find the things that he might want.

So here is a guide how we could clean up that mess, so everyone would be happy:

The assets of the creators would be downloaded (and I think that you want that) and the players can find their wish-assets more easily. I think we will still have a crowded "building" tag but all the assets will be sorted in the other tags.

Lets clean that mess up. Maybe there will be tag-support for single assets but collections are the only way now to clean up and sort the assets.

ONLY TOGETHER we can make this to a great workshop <3

Let me know if you think so or you have another opinion on this problem :)

Greetings
-Roger

PS: Is there any way to make this a sticky post? :D

Bumped for visibility. Great little walk through. It should be mandatory for every modder to view this before uploading their creations they spent so much time on - it's a shame to upload something just for it to be buried amongst 4000+ other uncategorized assets. It is the same problem that the official Maxis building exchange had as well, and why Simtropolis became THE website to get mods from. The Steam workshop is a great idea and downloading content from it is seamless, it'd be unfortunate not to utilize it correctly.

Thanks :)... I still hope its not a general Steam Workshop problem and can be fixed soon. And maybe until then this could be pinned by an moderator :) But don't know how to really contact them.

At first I was hoping it was an employee who had to sort through them, and they were doing it in batches. However there was only 1 day when I noticed that a few dozen were sorted into different categories, since then I haven't noticed any additional ones being sorted other than "maps", "mods" and "buildings". I hope more will notice a well.

I would do it for them... no problem. But i can't :c I would like to help with it if it would be possible. There is no problem to sort some assets while watching a stream or so.
