What height do you use for platforms or floors?
Hi, just starting a map and wondering what height to use for different layers and platforms. I started with 10 and that as clearly ridiculous. Just wondering if 3 or 5 looks the best?

hey. not entirely sure what you mean, but have a look at my map and see how you think it feels.

The various levels are set at increments of 5 & 10. . . so 0 for the bottom section, 10 the middle and 20 for the top levels, with intermediate levels of 5. Should give you a decent idea of how the map looks and feels.

Thanks, I also found London Duncan's old tutorial which says 5 as well.
yeah, i had a play around with the levels to see what felt right, 5 & 10 seem to work best.

Also, remember that the screen is fixed, no rotational camera, so when youre designing your map try to consider areas that will be hidden by raised areas. It makes it a bit awkward when designing a map but if you start high at the back and get lower towards the front youre onto a winner!

good luck!

You could always just rotate the camera if you didnt want to lose all of your work?

go into scenario > camera properties and change 'angle' to 180, this will set the in-game camera.

Useful to know if youve already done a tonne of modelling!
