Can't Detect Rendering Device

I can start the game on my laptop, but my nice expensive desktop gaming computer won't launch due to not being able to detect rendering device. Any suggestions?

If you're on nVidia, try launching the nVidia Control Panel and make sure your actual GPU is being used, instead of any integrated graphics chipset you might have.
