Maps with NPCs
Hey, I'm not sure how difficult it is to code in NPC's, but has anyone considered making a map where there are NPC marines and civilians fighting the aliens around you? There's one mission where you see automated turrets attacking the swarm, and thought it would be a cool mission if a base was being overrun and you had to escape it. Meanwhile, the defense forces are trying to protect civilians.

Dead city or City 17 maps got plenty of potentials. Implementing NPCs to act like Combines and Citizen will be highly immersive due to the maps layouts being in cities.
Adding NPCs to the game is not difficult, the source code is currently provided and NPC's animations, codes and all that are already in the game, currently you can see 1 ambient NPC (yea, exactly 1) in Campaign TEARS FOR TARNOR chap.1 where a citizen die by Drones.
If the drone is not scripted to attack that NPC, but attack it on their own, which mean that HL2 NPCs in this game got all the relationship setting implemented by the devs.

I'm not a map creator so that'll will have to wait. (For some one who make maps)
