Creating the .gpl, .bcd and .cam Files
I want to add new building and character definitions, thats easy I've done it plenty of times in downloaded quests, editing the .xml files. But I want to create my own from scratch, I have no experience in programming so thats probably where my problem is.

I pretty much don't know how to create the .bcd, .dat, .gpl and .cam files to use for this quest, so I cant run it without getting the GPLdispatcher error when I run the quest. the "How To Make A Quest" pdf seems too vague to me, once I got to "project view" it just isn't specific enough for me and if the solution for me to just play the bloody quest is to read all of the GPLreferences then I'm giving up.

1) In project view I create a reference to a .bcd, but then it requires source files? What am I suposed to put in these? The example quest isn't exactly helpful.

2)Where exactly am I suposed to save the quest to play this? There seems to be a few directories for quests at the moment

3) .CAM files, where do I get/create these from?

All I want is to create a quest where I have edited .xml files pretty much, but this is way more than I expected.

Sorry this is a bit long but any help is appreciated.

If all you've done is edit the .xml files, then that's all it should really take. Nothing else really needs to be changed or opened or messed with as .xml files are the only ones where you can pretty much implement a change without having to go through any extra processes. If you don't want to overwrite the original quest with your edited one, you can save it to Documents\My Games\MajestyHD\Quests folder and you'd be able to play it there without needing to overwrite the source quest.

I wouldn't touch .cam files currently as there's currently no support for modifying/creating them to be used effectively in the game. Unless the changes you desire are for the UI or Art, then it's best to leave them alone as that's the only thing they'd be useful for since everything else can be handled by GPL code.

thanks, that basically told me all I needed to know and I've got no problems anymore

About CAM-files. Do know anyone how to repack VOICES.CAM? I'd like to make some changes with packed WAVs. I can extract any of 300 WAVs, but how to put MY wav into CAM? Is there any idea?

Just a guess, but I didn't see Cyberlore Dev making any changes to how CAM files are handled in the recent update, so I'm guessing the above comment holds true about there being "no support for modifying/creating them to be used effectively in the game."

Yeah? But how about localizations? Any of them has a authentic sound. I mean what the heroes talking in different languges. In the russian localization for example...
They've repacked CAM-files somehow... But how??

The 2001 sound editor download link still works on Majestyquest.com - I haven't pasted it into my steam version of Majesty to mess around with it yet. It's a bit old, but I think it would probbably work with the Majesty Gold edition that came with Steam, even if doesn't work with Majesty HD.

As far as I can tell for localiations - The European copies of the game from the 2000s, had language files on them, but the English copies (which steam is based on) had no way of switching between multiple languages. It's a little weird since there are actually internal "language tags" to support doing so (at least in the GPL) , but because their are no files to load, even changing your computer's OS or making steam recognize another language as primary won't affect this version of the game.

Great link, pal! I've found a cool program the "Majesty_Sound_Editor". BUT it doesn't working! It creates a CAM-file as descripted in manual, But nothing changes in game. Did someone work with it? May be there is some trick about this?

you should create your own thread about using that sound editor
