Anyone know a good Necromancer-type class?
The closest I've ever gotten to a good necromancer class in this game is the one in Salan's Synergies mod. Unfortunately that one depends on the mod and I'm not into Synergies all that much anymore. Don't suppose anyone can help?

I actually have alot of experience with various mod classes and mod class packs around the Workshop so I can provide links and info.

However it would help me to know if you seek a mod class that has a Necromancer theme or a mod class that has similar game style features such as a heavy reliance on summons?

Also do you want a mod class that is different from the vanilla class skills or something similar to the original game?

= = =

On a side note: I found Synergies bosses to be very cruel on Elite if using classes that either don't have the DPS or the Regen to keep up with them.

I now like mods that stay closer to the original game while extending it's features.

I'm pretty much looking for something similar to DIablo II's necromancer. I mostly prefer summons. I like long-lasting summons that do a lot of the work for me hehe. The one I'm used to using is Deez Torchlight I Necro http://forums.runicgames.com/viewtopic.php?f=20&t=5821&start=60#p104908 Something similar to that would be great. That and something with lots of pet-boosting passives. I don't like using a lot of spells.

Mostly I just want something where I can run around and watch my minions eat everything.

As far as Synergies goes my main issue was with the number of mobs. Even with the low population mod it's a constant barrage of enemies. I like when mobs are spaced out. Thanks for the help btw.
Basically a necro-style class similar to DIablo II's/the one I linked while being vanilla flavored. I don't want it to be too op as that's no fun.

The "Death Knight" class is more powerful than vanilla and is not a specialized summoner however it can rely heavily on them.

= = =

The "Electrical Engineer" is powerful for vanilla however the bot summons have been increased from one to three (I forgot if this can be gained at early or max level). The Bot summons have been edited to deal electric damage and they do benefit from the electric passive power boosts.

= = =

The "Theolentist" can be more powerful than vanilla however it has awesome access to various summons and can go with a pure summon build.

This "Prime Summoner" has skills of a beast master theme:

= = =

The "Witch-Doctor" is a specialized summoner that also has access to melee skills.

This mod is a finished class pack of 6 classes and is very well polished.

If you want a Necromancer then there is an Occultist class inside the second version of Darkthan Classes.

Use Pack 1 or 2 but not both as they don't work together.

The "Druid" has a nature tree dedicated to summons although it's not as summon heavy as the "Witch Doctor" above.

This mod was also intended for- but does not require Synergies so the power may be high for vanilla.

The Animancer inside the Classless Mod is also an option for a Summoner and can be mixed with other trees for a variety of sub styles.

= = =

Finally if you desire a mixed gunner, buffer, "Summoner" that actually uses the vanilla skills with optional summon boosting mods then this is an interesting option:

https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=633401440

= = =

I hope this helps!

= = =

So while I haven't played or seen anything on the TL2 Workshop that is truly the Necromancer from D2... it does seem that at least Darkthan was able to mimic that theme and there are plenty of decent alternative options linked above.

= = =

Also be aware that classes from two mods that share the same name: Darkthan's "Druid" and Drew's "Druid" would override the other if placed above in the mod load order.

That Witch-Doctor is much more fun then the Engineer. Only downside is you lose access to the Healbot and Aegis of Fate.
