I don't know what is possible or impossible to mod, so I thought I would just drop my question among guys wiser than me ;)

Is it possible to change the way the game displays the map?

I almost always zoom out far enough for the coloured 3d-terrain to disappear into the flat-map view. I would like the following behaviour:
- Map always displayed as flat-map. (No need to load the 3d assets at all)
- Resource indicators visible at every zoom level. (If selected)
- No wireframe display of the cities buildings, a light shading to indicate a district is as informative and does not obstruct the view on anomalies.
(- City Badges [containing name and other info] either blend in on e.g. mouse-over or via menu-choice or are completely removed.)
