missing game add on from sonic 3?

So If you have had the genesis like I did, you've probably heard about this cartridge

This cartridge had a completely separate game where you played as knuckles trying to get revenge against Dr. Robotnik. Is there a a mod that has the game separate or do I have to only play on my genesis to play the knuckles version?

you could just use the level selector and pick who you want to play as, you can play sonic,tails, kuckles on their own or pair them (with a rom hack) to get knuckes and tails, ect.

you could just use the level selector and pick who you want to play as, you can play sonic,tails, kuckles on their own or pair them (with a rom hack) to get knuckes and tails, ect.

The problem is that playing as either sonic or knuckles had a difference in their play style. Not only that but playing as knuckles gave you an entirely different game layout (if anything a separate game) from playing as typical sonic.
