You're right on one count - TS2017 wasn't released this year, it was released in 2016.
But apart from that, yes it is only you. I think you're just looking for an excuse to be concerned about something that doesn't concern you (as you don't own the game).
I can be concerned about games I don't own. And it wasn't released in 2016. To be honest, the only reason I ever noticed this now near 7 year old game is because of how famous it is for the amount of overpriced DLC that would all cost the price of a used car if you wanted to buy it all.
And they don't have to keep renaming it because of their updates. Most simulator games released at one point don't do that. If they do have a year attached, it is usually the next game in line.
