When digging through a pile of rubble, it's kind of ridiculous that there isn't anything of any use within them. Not even a board, parts, or components. Without unbalancing the game too much, is it even possible to add even 0-2 pieces of loot from these rubble piles. As they are implemented in the vanilla game, they serve no purpose at all except as a time sinking obstacle to other resources.
