I was born long and far enough away to remember a time when airports were no different from any other place, just as happy and fun as anywhere. You could visit them as leisure, you could enter and go anywhere, go look at planes, accompany passengers all the way to the gate or the stairway to the plane and meet incoming friends and relatives at the ramp, with the sounds and smells of airplanes.

There was no "security" in the current sense, that is, a sensation of security, a massive expensive bureaucracy, randomly frisking elderly japanese couples as terrorist suspects instead of focusing on the 99.9% profile of actual terrorists; layers of separation everywhere, paranoia, cameras, fences, glass walls, you are kept at a great distance from the planes even if you are a passenger.

Instead, there was ACTUAL security: no hijackings, no terror attacks. You could carry umbrellas and scissors into the plane or a soda you just bought. Who cares. Terrorists don't live among us and are not allowed to enter our country (people from countries with incipient terror problems were black-listed), criminals don't roam the streets, the mentally ill are under treatment or locked up.

I like realistic games a lot. I also like when games can be realistic not only about a present time, but other times as well.

I feel a great melancholy that SimAirport does not allow me to relive those times as an adult instead of a child. I expected to grow up and live in a sane, healthy world. Not a paranoid terror and crime infested world.

So I leave as a request for someone who knows how: remove the security layer from the game. Make it irrelevant, delete it, whatever the solution could be.
