Into what folder are mods downloaded?

I would very much like to open and examine for instance the 'example hero' mod, to see if maybe I could work with that to do a few things. However for the life of me, I cannot figure out where Steam is downloading mods into. Can anyone give me a clue?

You can download the ExampleHero.zip mod from the official Amplitude forum: https://www.games2gether.com/endless-space-2/forums/75-modding/threads/25943-manual-for-modding-endless-space-2?page=1

And you can find Steam workshop mods in the folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\workshop\content

I'm trying to find out what folder are Endless Space (not Endless Space 2) mods downloaded.

About Steamapps\Workshop\content folder...
I have two folders there, but folders are a series of numbers. Both folders are to the two different games I have downloaded workshop files. Unfortunately Steam does not use actual game names in the workshop folder. And the content root folder isn't a right place to place the files either.
