Stargate Mod
So can someone trow together a mod for me that creates an in game randomly placed object that has to be excavated to activate? upon full excavation, it will spawn traders. and can the object look like a Stargate? I do not have enough experience in coding to create it, and I have no experience in graphic art or 3d rendering.

I'd like to see a land based Trading Post like that too, even if they could only do it by making it a buildable structure (because I think it's impossible to make a findable structure like that). They could make it require a new resource like "stargate parts" then make another building like "Explorers" first which generates these "stargate parts" at a very slow rate but can use the apiary code to generate from thin air, and maybe the rate is slowed because the workers are instructed to take breaks and idle often at distances far away from the city so it looks like they're exploring. Then they could just make the Stargate function identically to the Trading Post. If they expand it further they could add new alien crops and animals, and maybe futuristic buildings which can only be built with resources that cannot be gathered (only traded for). One could make the resource also "stargate" and the structure Stargate require just 1 stargate to build but for balance I think it'd be better if it required multiple parts, even though I know the stargate in the show was not designed to break down into parts.

pretty much. it would be incredibly low key for immersion sake, but screw it, it would be a stargate.

I just downloaded this medieval towns mod by red-ketchup and one of the things it adds is a whole new category for archeology. In it is a building which generates "relics" (a new resource) by having the workers search for relics and there's a few ruin style buildings you can place that are built with that resource alone. He could totally do what I was suggesting for the stargate.

i have a stargate ^^ but the problem is we absolutely cannot make a ground merchant in this game
you need to find something else or just for decoration.

The Stargate could act as a beacon/townhall for nomads

Okay, you can't make it just act as though a merchant has appeared at random intervals without any graphic part? We could always make the Stargate have to be built partially on water like the Trading Post, would that work?

Nomads already come through the Trading Post, they just have to apply for citizenship at the Town Hall. Having the Stargate as an anlternative Town Hall doesn't sound good to me.
