Yes, the workshop is very lacking. Not many people want to add to the USA section.

I can only guess most people here don't have any relation to American material, thus the mods for American trains etc is sparse.

I suggest those who want to have American material learn how to make mods. It's not easy, but it's a good challenge. Done well, it might just land you a job doing 3D too. For me it did.

I'm with you on that one friend, unfortunately, I can not do models worth spit, textures and art are my speciality, however, ...

... for those last ones, the sd60 and sd70, I think there is some content in the Train Fever section that could be converted, ... ofc, it would have to be for personal use only unless you get the permissions from the mod authors.

I get it's not everyone's cup, just like I'm no coder, some people can't figure out 3D modeling or texturing.

There are however, endless amount of tutorials. Give it time, test, learn, have fun. Over time you develop the skills you need or want. :)

Getting permission is as simple as asking. Either they can do it, or they let you do it. Can't think nobody want their mod converted.

Would be cool is old trainz or msts models were convertible. They were done for other games like locomotion.

Exactly what I am doing, that is, learning how to mod this game.
It doesn't look like the OP is following this topic, but here are a couple of the Train Fever models requested:

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/200-Union-Pacific-SD60/
(not sure if DasMatze is still around, but he has given permission before, so he might again)

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/227-EMD-SD70-Mac/
(is DukeaufDune on the Workshop?)

... and a couple of Amtrak Diesels:

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/1687-EMD-F40PH-Amtrak-Phase-II-III/
(this one is available for Transport Fever too)

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/1424-Amtrak-HHP-8d-Diesel-2011/

... and a DDA40X:

https://www.transportfever.net/filebase/index.php/Entry/231-Union-Pacific-UP-DDA40X-Centennial-by-Thorty/
( I think Thorty is on the Steam forums here somewhere? He may do his conversions at some point and release them on the Transport Fever.net database.)

Personally, I keep my interactions with the Train/Transport Fever. net forums to the bare minimum, some endorsements, mostly just downloads, then rework and translate the mod into English, for personal use.

Agreed. We need to get modders to not forget about USA vehicles. I'd also like to see some more types of freight cars, because, HOW DO COWS BREATHE IN BOXCARS????????

I do remember there being a mod for Train Fever that adds an intermodal spine car, and if it could be ported and modified to haul more stuff just like how intermodal cars can carry anything that fits in a container or truck trailer, then I can finally run a modern USA cargo train.

Some other car types I'd like are:

Intermodal car and/or Intermodal Spine car (Goods, food, fuel, pretty much any non-vehicle,)

Stock cars (Livestock) (Also for europe because both the boxcars and vans can have suffocating livestock loaded, and that is just disturbing.)

Centerbeam cars (Goods, Lumber, tools) (Basically a flatcar with walls on both ends and one in the center)

Flatcars (More or less anything, uses station waiting load)

Autorack (Automobiles (non-vanilla, but should be modded in), machines(as in tractors, snow plows, ect) (also goes for europe)

Refrigerator Cars/Reefers (Food, produce (concept cargo)) (Someone did mod in refrigerator cars for Europe, still waiting on USA fridges)

Cylindrical Hoppers (Grain)

Also boxcars should carry A: Anything that can be put on a pallet (Crude oil, oil and fuel in oil drums and jerry cans can be put on a pallet) and B: Makes sense to put in a box (Looking at you, developers and your "Livestock can breathe in enclosed spaces" agenda.)

For the concept cargo appearances, produce's object model would look similar to iron ore, but with blueberries instead of iron) Produced at farms.
Rubber, an object needed to produce automobiles, would be made at Rubber Farms or whatever they're called, and are used with steel at an auto plant to make automobiles.
Automobiles are well, cars. These will appear as any car that can appear ingame when produced.

Actual hopper cars HAVE been made on the workshop, don't worry.
