Please read: Forum guidelines
  1. Dev team:
These forums are the perfect place to directly interact with the development team. We check these forums as often as possible and always try to answer questions when needed. It's important to understand that the devs approach the the forum in a similar way as you: they are individual sharing their own opinions, wishes and sometimes questions. They don't follow any company guidelines, and there's no official communication policies. We have no dedicated communications team, the same small number of people who work on the game also dedicate their time to communicating with you. When your questions, suggestions or feedback do not receive an instant reply, that does not mean they are intentionally being ignored. Most of the time, it means the team hasn't had the time to reply yet. Please understand that the forums are not exclusively a channel between you and the dev team, nor does asking a question on these forums guarantee a reply from the team per se.

  2. Human interaction:
The team at LuGus Studios prefers a direct and personal way of interacting with the community. A lot of the official communication could be handled quicker and easier with the old PR catch-all “Thanks for your suggestion, the team will take it in consideration”. However, we prefer to have real conversations, to explain things, to go into detail and take the time to communicate on a personal level. This means reactions might not always be what you want them to be.

  3. Respect:
This shouldn't require any explanation really. Treat others the way you want them to treat you. It's perfectly fine to disagree, but that should never be an excuse for disrespectful behavior. We have zero tolerance for rude posts or personal attacks. No matter if you are right or wrong, rude and disrespectful behavior will be shut down immediately.

  4. Suggestions:
You are more than welcome to make suggestions on these forums. In fact, it's fair to say that many of the top features in the game are the result of community feedback. We are always happy to hear your ideas and would encourage everyone to share them. However, suggestions should not be confused with “demands” and phrasing makes all the difference there. A subtle difference in communication can have a huge impact on how something is shared and with what intentions. “Why has the dev team not added cupcakes? It shouldn't be hard to code!” vs “I think cupcakes in Liftoff would be a fun addition, what do you think?”

  5. "No":
On the topic of suggestions, please consider that “no” can be an answer to your idea. It does not mean it's a bad idea and that we don't appreciate you sharing it. There could be many reasons why a suggestion does not find its way into the game: a different vision, a technical reason or simply a budget or time limitation on the development side. The team at LuGus Studios never stops at "no”, we always do our best to explain our reasoning and thought process. Please remember that all decisions are made with the best intentions and are never personal in any way.

  6. Subforums:
We've created a couple of subforums to collect similar topics together. When making a topic, try to respect these categories. It makes easier for you to get help and for others to help you. You can find the list of subforums on the right side of the topic list. Don't worry if you posted in the wrong subforum by accident, we are happy to move your topic to the right section.

  7. Search tool:
We often find ourselves answering the same questions. While we don't mind answering these questions, it's often easier and faster to use the search function and find the answers to your questions that way. We understand that some older topics are not up-to-date and don't always have information pertaining to more recent versions of Liftoff. In that case, it's obviously fine to start a new topic. However, it happens regularly that similar topics are started within the same 48 hours, so it's not a bad idea to quickly look over at the latest topics before you start a new one. If similar conversations are started at the same time by accident, a moderator will merge them.

  8. Topic titles:
Please use short but correct topic title. A good title should give an indication of the content of the topic. Try to prevent general topic titles like "Some suggestions", "To the devs", "Please Help!!!"

  9. Topic content:
Put some effort in the content of your topic! Make sure everyone understands what the conversation is about and what you want to achieve by starting it. Explain what you want to talk about. Provide some background to your question. Give details about an issue you want help with. Provide some incentive and motivation to other, to join your conversation.

  10. Language:
The Liftoff community consists of people from 130 countries all over the world. Most of these don't use English as their main language. In fact, English is not even the native language of the development team. Nonetheless, this is an international forum and we want everyone to be able to join a conversation. To make that easier, we request that you use English wherever possible.

  11. Moderators:
Please respect decisions made by the forum moderators. If you disagree with an action and question the reasoning for moving, merging or closing a forum topic, please contact the moderator directly or get in contact with the team (team@lugus-studios.be). Don't escalate a situation by acting against it. The moderators are not your enemy, they are here to help and make our community a fun place for everyone. Moderators are carefully selected by the team at LuGus Studios and are in most cases the developers themselves. In extreme cases: when a topic gets closed or a rare (temporary) forum ban occurs, these decisions get made together with the dev team and are never an individual decision. Please know that every decision is being made with the best intention.
