It's actually not "...supposed to be a relaxing...". It is in fact 'supposed' to be a simulation. A simulation is an attempt to recreate a real life experience. Maybe you are just a point chaser and therefore trying to do too much with "...hundreds of totally different eninges..."? Maybe you should try to pick, say half a dozen or so, and conentrate on mastering (and therefore enjoying) things a little better. Just a thought.

This is from the ''Pro Range'' of locos. If you read the description, this is what was said:

Pro Range

The Pro Range is aimed toward the serious train simulation enthusiast looking for a complex machine to master. Each product is designed to provide education and entertainment for users. Xbox controller and HUD interface support do not come as standard and users will need to read the accompanying documentation to fully understand the operation of this advanced simulation.

Not really surprising then, that it is hard to operate. No-one is expecting you to buy, master and operate all of the TS content, just ones that you want and can manage.

Like the others have said - pick your favorite set of locomotives and stick to scenarios for them -- Or stop and review the manual for a loco you haven't driven in a while to refresh your memory on how it works, really no stress -- or take your time to work through the start-up and once you have it down restart the scenario so there isn't any time penalty -- no reason to get stressed out over a hobby when there are plenty of ways to skin the cat if you where.

When I'm getting back into a loco I usually take it on a short, light run to get used to it again, no complex scenarios. I recently fired up a Crompton for the first time in ages, and I was a bit lost to start with, too used to the Class 25! Still, now I feel comfortable enough in it!
