Changing color of water - simple question?
Hi there! I haven't modded a game in years. I'd love to make a "tropical" / hot planet but feel that the color of the water would really need to be that turqoise equatorial color like here on Earth.

My question is - I see a CivBEColors.xml and thought I could just make changes there, but quickly discovered an entire host of other files that seem to have to do with color atlases, etc .tga files with color "keys" etc.

Has someone already documented how all these files relate? Or do I have some work ahead of me to change the color of the existing terrain?

Thanks

I recommend downloading existing art mods and reverse-engineering them.

Thanks! I started playing with the .tga files, but I'll go with that.

To embelish a little on my previous thought - I'd kind of been looking at a little more "blown out" look, with brighter yellows, harder shadows, along with the turqoise water I mentioned. This would also go nicely with a desert mod.

I'm just not sure there is a "universal" light source I can change for when the vehicles are rendered etc. That would make things a lot easier, changing the color temperature and brightness there. Obviously I have a lot to learn about the CIV:BE engine.

Thanks again.
