Quake Live mapping guidelines?
Hello. Starting with converting my maps for Quake Live, I've run into some pretty nasty issues.

First map being converted is my Team Arena redux of PaN61's CTF map Opposing Force (p61ctf1), I called it Opposing Teams (czq3p61ctf1).

Quake Live BSP is named "opposingteams" and basically should support all flag team based games (CTF, Oneflag, Overload, Harvester, A&D).

However, GtkRadiant's entities.def file appears to be incomplete in terms of entity help content. And I've become struggled with white flag settings.

Also, compiled map has all runes spawned outside the map, off their original coordinates, the same applies to Blue Flag (only blue flag), all other items appear to be in place. Editor displays all items correctly. Something wrong with compiler?

Next: gametype settings tend to not work. I have Railgun placed in middle of the map for CTF and Overload (now for A&D as well) but moved to upper platforms on each side of the map for Oneflag and Harvester, since middle of the map is home of white flag and harvester skull generator.

This configuration was brought to the map by me, since its original release for Team Arena. I'd like to preserve it for Quake Live edition as well. Not speaking about the flags gametype settings...

And last issue, not sure about its severity and how much could it cause these things happen:
During compile time, editor shows up four mirror planed brushes. But selecting these I can't see anything. Are these invisible? Should I delete them?

So I partially solved issues with items not showing up. Blue flag now shows up, did it by removing the gametype key/value on all items that had it. However, the runes still do not show up. White flag also do not show up, but it's okay for CTF. Didn't test it in Oneflag, however.

Anyway, I need to set up gametypes for the Railgun items. Railgun in center needs to be spawned in CTF, A&D and Overload gametypes, and pretty much every other gametype excluding Oneflag and Harvester, which needs to spawn Railgun on both upper platforms with Nailgun, since center is occupied with Neutral Flag and Neutral Obelisk...

I can't figure out why the gametype key/value doesn't work, and of course I can't figure out why the runes do not show up...

So I figured out the runes show up only in Arena CTF (bummer), however displaced from their original position. While playing Distant Screams Arena CTF, I just realised it's a global bug as these runes are displaced there, too. Maybe a bug report? This needs to be fixed...

How did you compile maps for QLive?

Quite simply. I had to choose Quake Live as base game in GtkRadiant and setup compiler for that game, too...

I used to make maps for quake 3. How do I load my map for testing?

I think the same way you load the map in Quake 3 - via console. Press ~ (located under the ESC button), it should bring down the console. Type in \map nameofyourmap (without the .bsp extension), if you need developer tools (cheats), then it is \devmap nameofyourmap, and that's it.

If you want Skirmish support, then I guess that map should have loader script in the pk3 (the same script that's used in Quake 3) and then load the map by starting your localhost server.
