StaticDecals and DynamicDecals
Hey,

I originally posted this in "General Discussions" but somebody told me to ask this here, because some of you map makers, who could answer this, aren't active there.

I had no bullet holes and found that really annoying. Then I turned on DynamicDecals and now I have bullet holes again, but not on every surface, I then turned on StaticDecals but there are still no bullet holes on all surfaces and the holes disappear after some time as well.

Can anybody explain me the difference between StaticDecals and DynamicDecals?

Static Decals are decals placed down onto the level during the time it's made, things like craters on LongTan, the oil leak below the damaged jeep on SongBe, etc. They're static, and remain that way. These do not disappear over time, they're static
Dynamic decals are decals that spawned dynamically during gameplay, bullet holes, grenade scorch marks, etc by players and the game.These types of decals however do disappear over time.
