The Ghan of Australia.
Hey, all. (I am sure that Mokum and Sharpey and others not just of Oz, would have enjoyed it.)

I thought, I'd put my thought here and not on the General TS Discussion board.
We had on Sunday AEST, (I'm sure it was seen in the West of Oz, too.) just gone on a TV station SBS (Special Boardcast Station.) a good show, about the "The Ghan" train.

It's also on a thing called "Slow TV??"

No Ads, No voice over, No music, etc. For 3 Hours or so. Just the Train, in it, over it, under it, etc.
And along the way, some note's on the screen (while the train was travelling along.) about it's history. (wish they have had done more airel shots, though. At some points.) but other wise all good.

I do like when you see similar from all over the World, not just Trains, either.

But, it's also good to see something of one's own country, too. Yes??

I wonder, if they will do one (a more recent on.) on the "Indian Pacfic."
Or the one that goes to Queensland from Sydney. Or the XPT from Melb to Sydney.
And for good measure, the "Overland" from Melb to Adelaide.

Anyway, it was so relaxing. Woo Hoo!

Glad you enjoyed it Jock! I'm actually a tad dissapointed I missed it.
I have travelled personally on the Indian Pacific from Perth to Sydney with my father and enjoyed it very much. The worst part was coming back into the rat race of Sydney! We were able to enjoy gold class for the full journey as it was much cheaper because of my employment through the railway. You should make the trip if possible. Its a great way to see the backyard of Australia.

I think you can still view the show, if you know where to look for it, on the internet.
Or try SBS on demand??

Thanks for taking an interest in my post.
