Map Editor
Since Modding Threads are restricted I am wondering about the progress the Map Editor has made thus far. Top Modding Thread is nearly a year old with the last reply when it came to possible Map Editor.

I wonder if the asset manager will have the ability to import other models or if we'll just have what is current in the game.

Really curious about where Fatshark is at when it comes to the promised Map Editor.

Would love another snow environment as Skittergate doesn't have the best reputation as a good map.

Fatshark is obviously busy pimping out DLCs and "Expansions", rather than let the community extend the game with a map editor that probably never will come out.

I believe it's a combination of Pride on Fatsharks and Gamesworkshop's hold on VT2 when it comes to what is or isn't allowed.

Pride because the developers are too scared to see if the community can make better maps then they can and when it comes to what isn't allowed you can easily bypass that just like how they did with Return to Ubersreik or Winds of Magic Weaves game mode. Just introduce a magical background as to why the 5 are in this level and you're fine.

Last I checked with Fatshark Julia it was stated that they still working on a Map Editor but with how long it's been I am more inclined to think of that being a lie or simply buying time.

VT2 being a great IP continually gets mishandled.

Making tools for games takes a lot of work, especially if it's from scratch. If it's not a priority for the studio it will take a long time, nothing to do with pride. However they haven't said much on the subject recently which is sad, because I really want to make levels for this :steamsad:

Nothing to do with pride when other mods that are sanctioned aren't been made part of the base game when they make vast improvements on things such as the UI. I think they'd worry about modders coming out with better designed maps which would add pressure on them to make these maps sanctioned giving their own maps a big middle finger in the process.
