Let us choose what weapons our invasions troops we have/use. Let us choose the path they take on marching onto cities. Like formations etc. I would love to see like an automated version of Total War attacking cities etc and NPC animations fighting/explosions whatever. Overall the invasion system is lackluster and the Devs noted that they wanted 2 change it and give it an overhaul. The idea is very rough and still can be worked on. But, I would like to see similar idea's implemented in the way space combat is done.
It will still be limited to the way the engine handle it however.
You could have more ways to invade.
You could have technology that impact it.
The Arcean tech already enhance defense.
it's a good example.
Oh, that would require a subtantial change to the engine.
Space Empire V had both space battles and land battles.
There should be a strong cyberwarfare and stealth/biogenic warfare
as in mimiking the race you invade, infiltrrating them
IN GC3, my main invasion tactic is crushing influence that flip planets
A form of information / cultural warfare
special starbases, special ships (one ship does that)
I mean the engine should be able to handle it and it's not that far off. That's what I think we all want....is that vision built into the game with cyberwarfare etc. Would love to help build upon it.
