Someone make a mod for starting with 7 survivors?
I thought it'd be a thrilling idea if I could start the game with seven custom survivors. One for each profession. The reason for this is I'd like a game that was quite chaotic managing each and every survivor. To see who dies and who survives. As I find it a little too simple with four survivors on the highest difficulty on 80 days. Don't get me wrong! It still has challenging moments, but it's just managable to keep things in order. I'd just like to make it a cluster of madness and see how far I get with seven people. Problem is, the game limits it to four survivors to start out with, and it really puts dents in my plan for some fun. I was wondering if it'd be possible to fix this with the help of mods in the workshop, but there are currently none that provide such a feat. Nor do I or anybody I know has the ability to make mods.

I'm hoping someone who has experience making such things would be generous enough to add this feature, but I know there's no guarantee.

Are you still looking for something like this?
Do you only want 7 survivors with no other change?
I recently started making mods, and I think I would be able to do this

I'd be intertested in downloading this too! I'm by no means an expert, but it would make for a very fun mod, I think.

Also, are there any character model mods?

well he was only looking for default characters I think, I have been looking, and I don't think you can change how many you can start with, what I could do is you could start with 4, and I could make the next 3 come each day so by day 2 you would be able to have your 7, and if people were looking for a certain team of people. I could remove everyone but the dedicated 7

Yes, definitely. I completely forgot about this post because it's been MONTHS. But if you could actually accomplish this, I'd be more than grateful.

is there a specific 7 characters you want? or any of them?

they only way I was able to get it to work was creating a custom scenario, so I had to define everything, you won't get to pick any characters, the length of the war, or when winter comes. If you want it any differently than the way I set it up let me know. I set it a 80 day war, and winter comes late. Here it is

no problem have a great time in trying this mod, I also created a 12 person mod. You start with every survivor

Why stop at 12 though? With "The Littles Ones" dlc you can add all the kids and their caretakers (+9), and even the ones from "Stories" can be added (+5). That's 26 characters total not 12 :steammocking:

That gives me a good idea for a mod. You'd start with whoever you want (custom character included) and every day you'd get a random character joining the shelter until you reach the limit (maybe more like 6-8 to make it fair) and then try to survive 80 days with them.

You should get it, having kids to protect changes how you play the game and makes it more interesting (and quite a bit harder).

Here are the dlc characters btw if you want to try them out:
Adam Characters/Player_characters/WarStories/Dweller_Adam Malik Characters/Player_characters/WarStories/Story2/Dweller_Malik Esma Characters/Player_characters/WarStories/Story2/Dweller_Esma Adem Characters/Player_characters/WarStories/Story2/Dweller_Son
Note that they don't react to events like the other characters though, you have to add them manually in "Emotion config" (you can find that file in my mods where i already did just that)

I'm gonna wait for the devs to drop the third story so I don't have to do it twice (the update will break all mods... again). I will probably release it as a submod to my Endless War mod since it's basically the same idea.
