So, if you download mods, will you not be able to play online?

I was curious about this because I got a TON of mods installed, and if I do play online, will that mean:
1. I won't be able to play with anyone or have people join me?
2. Will the stuff install for them or be invisable to them?
I'm curious because I wanted to try some online play but I don't want to uninstall all my stuff or not be able to at all.

You can play online just fine, only some weapons mod can cause problems but only if you buy them and that's not for every weapon mods. Of course they won't be able to see the stuff you are using if they don't have said mod, afaik you are either in underwear (for clothes) or they see a vanilla item (for weapons)
