I was hoping to maybe at some point make a faction mod, with a new look (race/species). I need to know how to play with the character models. I need general modding knowledge. And I need to know how to create a new faction and display them separately from the pre-existing factions.

The idea was that I like the Floran from Starbound and since the in-game sprites look like crap, but the fan art/official art looks awesome, I may as well try to bring them to the cubey 3rd dimension. Along with the destructive shenanigans.
