I am on my 3rd play through of the game. The other two I took all the way to ultimate victories. So obviously I like the game. However, what is driving me nuts is the diplomacy in the game.

Why when my vassal takes a providence, that I needed, can I not demand they give it to me? I mean, they are my vassal, they should have waited for my approval anyway.

When I liberate a city why do I not have the option to make them a vassal? Instead I have to liberate them, make them a military ally, then attack them to make them a vassal. Which gives me Trustworthiness: Unreliable! I end up ignoring that because the diplomacy mechanics are flawed.

We should be able to trade land with our allies, vassals, or just outright buy land from someone. Make it an option as part of a negotiation for peace. "You give me that land and I wont pillage your kingdom!".

You can do all of that in Empire: Total War. Which is my favorite of the series, thus far. If someone would make a mod to address those, since I doubt CA will, that would be incredible. I would even pay for that!
