MODS LAUNCHER CRASHING?!

I dont know if I am the only one that this is happening to but when I launch any mods now it makes the game crash. I tried SynergiesMOD (v.1337) by itself and it still crashed. Then tried Torchlight II Essentials by itself as well still the same problem. I had a lineup of mods that were working a few days ago and that I might add have been for over a year and now all of a sudden nothing works. I checked the order the mods went into and everything is fine. I also reinstalled the game and mods and still the same problem. Any ideas?

Make sure that the Steam Cloud is accepting new changes rather than sending back broken files.

Copy Paste your modded character saves to another location.

Have the mod launcher on screen then delete the mod save folder.

Exit then Launch again and start the game.

By character saves, you only mean character saves in the mod launcher, correct?

Yes, only the modded character saves need to be safely moved outside that folder.

You're welcome! ^_^

I admit it's a strange method yet an effective fix.

It may be because wiping the entire mod save folder while at the launcher prevents Steam from reverting the fix and also resets any corruption or binding messing up the modded game.

ty i know this is old thread but I ran into this again recently trying to play with mods again. I remembered there was a solution just had to search for it.
But if anyone else has had problems with mod laucher crashing even if there is NO mods at all this is why. one of your mods has binded itself to your game files & cant run proper w/o that one mod installed.
