Crafting recipes wiped after update
I don't know if this has happened every time the editor has been updated, nor if it's intentional or a bug since i only discovered the game even had, an editor near the start of the month, but quite the issue.

I've been working on a personal use overhaul mod, that added a lot of new items be it mining, tools/weapons, food, halfstuff ect and most of these were 'in use' by some vanilla recipes with my changes, such as the steel door now taking a unique, hard-to-make locking mechanism that required several other components in and of its self, replacing the steel door's normal lock, but changed the steel door to be worth the extra effort by making it virtually unbreakable, while also being in the center of a block, being classified as 'wide' and requiring a backwall, top and bottom block unlike other doors.

With the update, all crafting recipes of non-vanilla things---i.e. anything i made---was wiped, as was the grouping, the craft number, tech needed, even the workstation it's made at.

This also reset the crafting recipes of vanilla items i'd edited to the original recipe.

The shop price, name/description, other properties like that all seemed to be intact.... save for the ones of blocks. All of their properties have been reset, and my new blocks had all their properties---save for name/description removed, even the icon.

I still have a lot of work to make up for before i can do anything new.

EDIT: It just got much worse.

Any new blocks i make, it wipes all properties of, even if they're saved the next time the mod is reloaded. The prime example is my rope ladder.

I have everything sorted out right for it, or at least, it WAS right before, dunno if something's changed, but it all gets removed after reloading, even the block type it's set as.

I suspect this has to do with the Farming (i.e. farm_fence and animal_trap) issues fix; could also be the grottoes DLC update.

Not sure just which "xml" files the editor alters ... but any that the update changed would have had the new version of said files downloaded (replacing the existing, older versions, of said files).

I would recommend searching through the "data" folder, at Steam's local cache location, for relevant "xml" files (hint: check file date-time stamps) and keeping backups of these while developing mods. Then, at least, you would have a starting point for recovering incomplete work.

For future reference, the OP issue is what happen if you don't use merge="partial".
