Race Editor Improvement ideas
So after my troubles with the whole track builder feature which took an age to totally figure out so I could progress to the race editor where I'm now finding it hard to setup any race track I layout that is more complex with over lapping race line. What I mean is that the lack of a visual cue makes it really hard to setup your gates and check points becausr all you get is a large grey box with gates and checkpoints all over the place and no idea which is which thus making it really hard and annoying to setup your track layout.

So I have few ideas that might make things much easier for people to use.

1. Each Gate gets a number to identify it in the race editor.
2. A simple overhead view instead of a grey screen with no features.
3. If you use markers and track boundries they should be visible in race editor.

I know my last post was deleted so please take note of what I've said in this post as I'm not trying to be negative about liftoff as I do like the way it feels, I just found your track building feature really confusing nd couldn't find a guide that gave all the information required to use it.

Thanks for the additional suggestions!

Numbering gates sounds great on paper but in reality does not work (we tried). Tracks in Liftoff are not always linear and as a result might be more confusing than helpful. However we do agree that it's sometimes hard to identify the track elements in the race editor. In our rack builder revamp, we'll be merging the Track and Race tools together, making it much easier to see things as they are.

That's planned for the track builder revamp we're currently working on.

As mentioned above, since we are merging the Race editor with the Track builder things will be very different to that regard. You'll be able to pick between the overview, or a free camera view within the virtual world to link track elements into a Race.

I don't think your post got delete (not that I'm aware of), but we did move it to the right subforum called "Workshop & User Content". I'll be moving this topic to the subforum too, but I'll keep a link in the main forum for some time, just to make sure you see it ;)

One point I'd like to add (although it is probably covered by the rework you mentioned): overlapping waypoints are impossible to link as you can't access the waypoint on the bottom (eg waypoint 1 on top of a tree, waypoint 2 under the tree).
It was one of the first things I tried to do in the editor, as I noticed a lot of the built in races are very 1 dimentional.
