Community Feedback Requested - In-game Modding UI
We're looking to improve the in-game UI around activating/deactivating HoF2 mods and we'd love to get some community feedback before we stumble blindly into a redesign. Please note that we're just interested in opinions on the in-game mod UI right now (where mods are activated on save slots, how that information is communicated to the player, how we track player progress with mods activated/deactivated), not the mod tools themselves.

If you do use mods - what would you like to see improved/clarified in-game?
If you don't use mods - is there something in the way mods are presented that keeps you away? What can we do to make it easier for you to explore modded content?

Personally I would like to have it set up so you can see the tags/descriptions/author/versions of the mods you are subscribed to and be able to sort them by those. I've noticed a lot of mods have what type of mod they are written in the title, which leads to very long titles that cut off in the mod menu.

Being able to save "Mod loadouts" would also be cool, although it won't really be necessary until we see enough mods released that disabling/enabling X of them becomes a hassle.

I don't use these mods for one main reason: I don't know how to play them.

For instance, I subscribed to the one that you recommended "Ruben the Claw Troll", but I have no idea how to play it now...
I must be dumb for not seeing how to play and I probably did not try hard, but I would say that there could be better instructions/indications to have easier access to these mods ingame.

The other reason is I'm not sure about how good or bad it can affect a normal game. But as I've never been able to play them I can't tell if it has any influence or not.

No need to feel dumb. Identifying where things aren't super clear is important and part of the feedback we're trying to gather!

To get you up and running right now, here are some instructions:

At the main menu, click on the Load Game/Mods option. This will bring up the save slot selection screen. Anything with a yellow cog has modding enabled on it. Clicking on a white cog will give you an option to enable mods on that save slot or to make a copy of that save slot with modding enabled (we recommend making a copy so that you can continue your original save slot later if you like). The message box that comes up also lets you know that achievements and leaderboards will be disabled on mod-enabled profiles.

After slecting a mod enabled save-slot, you'll be presented with the mod activation screen where you can select which of your currently subscribed mods you'd like to play with. You can toggle these to customise your experience any time you start the game.

Different mods manifest differently. The Ruben the Claw Troll mod will cause a token to be unlocked when you load (or at the end of the run if you're in the middle of a run) that gives you the first card in the Ruben chain. The Rubens Only mod adds a new challenge to the challenge selection screen.

Hope that helps!
