I've glanced at your maps from time to time. They look pretty in the pictures, but I've never downloaded one... which is strange because I've downloaded and played dozens that looked awful. Time to change that. I'll give you my thoughts once I'm done going through them :)
Speak for yourself. At least two of us have seen this discussion! And given that like, 70% of the threads have been started by you in General Discussions, we could argue that 70% of the forum community have seen Askindale's post :D
Basically, you've done a good job with the map designs. They look pretty, and they're easy to run on even a lower end computer - which is a balance I find hard to achieve myself, so very well done here.
However, as your campaign is set in the stone age, the enemies are limited to weapons that can't really harm the player if he/she simply runs backwards and chucks weapons at the enemy. There were no ranged attackers on any of the maps, so I never had to worry about being out ranged.
Unfortunately this meant that the challenge level dropped through the floor. The maps looked pretty, and were fun to play, but they were ultimately a casual experience that didn't require a lot of brain power... not that AW3 usually requires brain power, but still.
The last map, Chapter 5, was by far my favourite. Conquest was a breath of fresh air, as it uses AW3's core strength - battles between armies - and due to its tactical nature, the over powered throwing of weapons wasn't the be all and end all, because I had to worry more about taking flags than killing enemies.
Looking back over the other maps, I would recomend making them all conquest based, but adjusting the teams so that the player's side is always out numbered. A moderately skilled player can take out a lot of bots, so having him go up against an army 3 times the size of his should be a nice counter-weight.
The story would only need to change slightly on the maps if you were to do this, I think.
But this is just all my opinion. There's a lot of good work here, I enjoyed playing through it I didn't feel like I was just going through the motions. It was also nice that you stuck to the simple weapons, especially for someone like me who doesn't really do anything but carry around an assault rifle :D
I would say that rather than make chapter 6, have a think about what could be improved in chapters 1 - 5, and re-release them. If not, then ensure that chapter 6 comes out the door fighting, with more challenge and more punch than what came before.
In any case, I'll be keeping an eye on things. Best of luck with whatever you end up doing :)
