Including which theme items used in blueprints
I do appreciate all the hours that goes into designing all these amazing inclosures and parks in the workshop, BUT it would be nice with a hint to what research is needed to be able to use the blueprints. Either which exact items or just from which research level of a theme it's from.

Just a nice suggestion from a big fan of blueprint sharing. :)

In Sandbox Mode you don't need any research. All the pieces are available. In Franchise Mode each of the themes is researchable at the Workshop. There are a few different levels of research and each time you will get a few more pieces.

I still have to agree with your original post. Just because they are made in Sandbox, or the creator assumes the item will only be used in Sandbox is no excuse. They shouldn't assume how it will be played with. A really awesome (and I'm sure hard built) construction is useless if it can't be used.

I've just started playing this game yesterday and after a lot of pulling my hair out trying to build stuff, i decided to just get some pre-made shelters and whatnot from the workshop...but can't see any of them to buy anywhere. So is this why? I just haven't researched everything included in the blueprint?

I feel so stupid! ha

But if that is the case, totally agree with the op. :)
