Report a translation problem
There's currently a bug in the mod support that doesn't allow special characters in your Windows username (only A-Z allowed).
To fix it, you can temporary move your saved games folder:
* Press Windows Key + R
* Paste in: %USERPROFILE% and press enter
* Drag and drop (with your mouse, not copy/paste) the "Saved Games" (can be translated on your computer) to the root of the C: drive.
Afterwards, start up the game again and you should see all mods being installed.
The bug will be fixed eventually. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Best,
Jonas
The location of mods have changed since this thread was created (to fix the issue above). Mods are now being saved next to the game files. You can use Steam's "Browse local files..." feature to find the path.
The bug above is not present in Beta 20.
Best,
Jonas
You're probably aware of this but I got the outdated information from the wiki page on your github repo.[github.com]
I did attempt to be helpful and submit a change to the wiki myself but it looks like you've got it locked down to collaborators only, which is fair enough.
Thanks again :).
Sammy.
You have to be more specific. I can't get a custom mod to work. All I get is "No mods installed." I'm completely in the dark here.
did you have problems with your own mod or a download one?
if your own did you tried a downloaded if this works?
what exactly you want to know?
the destination?
this is what he told
https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=760447682
from there ".../resources/app/mods"
That is the important information. Thanks. "next to the game files" doesn't really describe that.
On macOS this is ${HOME}/Library/Application Support/Steam/steamapps/common/Startup Company/StartupCompany.app/Contents/Resources/app/mods?!
StartupCompany.app will be replaced with every update. That implies, that the mods will be removed during updates. That doesn't sound like a good idea. Modifying content inside of an {whatever}.app on macOS is never a good idea.
Workshop mods may "survive" this, if Steam applies them after an update. But what is about local custom mods?
