This vs Empyrion, should I get it?
I already have Empyrion, and I'm debating on getting this. So how is it compared to Empyrion? So far it looks pretty similar. But I'm still on the fence.

Honestly? Whatever you find interesting enough. Avorion is designed for space exploration and faction power play. You can design whatever ship you want and do anything you can imagine in space. Trade, explore, fight.. In Empyrion, this is more planetary focused, but you can create bases in space if you wanted to. Empyrion allows you to create vast bases and ships to your maximum imagination and you barely don't have any restrictions. Unlike space engineers, large ships can be rendered next to other large ones just fine, without any frame loss.

So basically it comes down to this:

do you like space or planetary exploration?

Space = Avorion all the way.

planetary exploration = Empyrion all the way.

:-)

If you're liking both then i'd stick to empyrion for the long run. Its more interactive.

Ah, aight, thank you!
I suggest watching lets plays if your on the fence, avorion is amazing and it gets better with every update. Before you could design ships and stations and now you can design turrets and fighters aswell so its always being improved. Better building mechanic over empyrion too. This one has to be the most advanced yet simple to use iv seen in a game so far.

Iv just started my turret collection. Theres also my ships too. Or browse the workshop to your hearts content lol. Altho i guess the best way to get better is to practise right? :D

That's what I typically do :P
Then get it, whats the worst that can happen hahaha? If im honest i prefer avorion over empyrion however they are still fairly close in terms of fun. Top tip tho, if you get avorion, play it normally first then you can start moding and editing files lol :) Sure its really fun having 100+ guns all over your ship but its better to at least run through once :)

Both. :D

Pick up Space Engineers too if you want a more engineering oriented game.

Avorion is an absolute steal for the price though, even in its early access state.

I played Empyrion then left to play this. This has FAR more potential. It is missing some key aspects of interaction as was mentioned BUT once that part is implemented essentially overnight this game will smash Empyrion.

Hmmm. I'll have to check it out then when I can.

They really aren't in competition with each other, as they have different game and design goals. Pick up whichever one looks interesting to you, they're both great games.
