Well ♥♥♥♥, looks like we'll be getting a legendary AMCAR!
(just a joke, this skin has not been selected to be part of any skin safe (yet))

btw if you read the comments for both submissions you often will come a cross comments like "Why AMCAR?!", "Nice skin but ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Weapon". So I´ll guess not many people wait for a legendary amcar (excluding you and @Soundwave :).
At least Yamaha put a lot of time and effort to make his skin available for the AMR too.
The AMCAR actually isn't all that bad of a weapon. Sure its DPS leaves a bit to be desired, and it's not as versatile as the PD:TH AMCAR, but it's far from HORRIBLE.
That said, if I had my way regarding Payday 3, the AMCAR would basically be a weapon that starts off crappy but would be highly modular, able to do just about anything depending on how it's modded (basically it'd combine the AMCAR and CAR-4 into one weapon). For one, it'd be able to turn into three different categories of AR depending on the upper receiver fitted to it, including a light AR with the default one, a medium AR with a 6.8 Grendel receiver, and a DMR with a .308 receiver. Hell, maybe a .50 Beowulf receiver for ♥♥♥♥♥ and giggles.
Also, I should point out that Overkill's general line of reasoning with legendaries seems to be to usually (but not always) pick something with one of the following color schemes:
-black and gold
-white and gold
-silver and gold
-blue and white
-blue and silver
-blue and gold
