[Mod Request] Better Henchman AI
A little mod that just makes the henchmen invulnerable, and maybe having better path finding.
I´m fed with the stupidity of my henchman, getting killed constantly.

mine rarely get killed, usually only happens when I get killed. I wish we could control their leveling better then just telling them what to work on.

Mine either gets stuck on everything, or runs close to me in combat, though i told him/her to stay far away as possible (because ranged weapons). And going into close combat with a ranged weapon, the worst thing you can do.

ah well in that case let them die lol the deserve to die for stupidity but yeah talk tactics and tell them to stay long range away but you could also try getting them better armor and weapons except when the game won't let you change their inventory which is basicly the only time mine do die. I assume you aren't using any of the cheat modes in altering their str/dex/con or even your own. if you did you would find it happening a lot less. give every body 50 in those 3 stats. and maybe even give yourself a few levels which will also raise theirs and in games you can't change their inventory you will have to tell them to level up, but even some mods won't let you tell them to do that either because it happens automaticly for them because usually you henchmen usually have the same exp your character does that is in most mods.

Have you tried TonyK Henchmen AI? This game has poor pathfinding though, and there isn't a way to easily script such a thing as the engine only has 1 function for testing geometry. I have been working on experimental path finder, but the lack of ability to make a heap makes it impossible to code an A* in the script language.

You can make them invincible by forging an armor with +20 damage reduction. The henchmens in the original game though will disappear so you have to take it off of them before you level up to put it back on them.

You can control companions via the radial menu. The one on the PC issues orders to the whole team.

For example, you can hear some enemies in a room ahead. Tell the party to Stand Your Ground. Scout ahead. Lots of enemies in the room but they haven't seen you yet. Tell the party to Follow, then Stand Your Ground in the doorway to bottleneck the fight. Fire a ranged weapon into the enemies to provoke them into attacking at the doorway. Switch to melee weapon but wait until the enemy reach the doorway before ordering party to Attack Nearest.

Companions are dumb, but monsters are dumber, you just have to work the room.

I like my henchies, they usually try to do the right thing. Using the commands though is necessary. I think there is some way to tell them verbal commands too, by pressing V, but I have no idea if they listen to that. They seem to like it though.
