Why there are so many dots in the result?I somethime found something interesting but only half is readable.
^ By the way, I found out some soldiers' template. Finally. Thing is, you can't just open up a scenario and lauch the scan. It won't work. You have to go to the map, armybase for instance, then you search some soldier stuff then it will work.

I don't know why it is this. Because usually you can find something even it's not in the map. But those soldier templates are not pre-load so you have to go to the certain map to load them in order to search via Cheat Engine.

I will try to spwan the hidden dweller again by spawning him first. See if I have luck.

That's how game memory works, it overwrites itself all the time. You can search the partial path to find where the full one has gone to. Likewise, the game is not loading everything at launch, that's why you need to load a location first so the game loads the attached assets into memory.

I tried spawning them in the shelter, and while the game recognize them (didn't crash on selection screen), they don't have names/portraits anymore and the scenario ends instantly.

Same thing with the scenario editor characters, i don't think we can make them work either (Characters/Editor_characters/Dweller_Custom_XXX). That's a bit unfortunate, would've been a good way to add new characters.

Well at least the dlc characters work fine so there's that.

^On my side I spawn them in my debug scenario so they came along with other dwellers.You can't control them and the trader has nothing in his inventory. I think they are fixed NPC. I also tried to spawn some bandits. After the spawn they immdietaely started to attack other dwellers. But all of them are not equipped.

^Right now I'm trying to find out the "dweller" who spawned in the church. Once I find it I can have a new character.

I use CE to scan all lines start with "Character/", like "Character/A" nope..."Character/C" Ahah find some. So "Character/Ca, "Character/Ce, "Character/Ch...

I think it's in one of those lines.

I have been suspecting it when I passed through "Character/Dw"

Once I click the scelect scenario and the game didn't crush I knew I at least input some valid template.

You're on a roll ! That's a very nice find you got there.

I've tried to see what archetype he is (Survivalist, Homie, etc..) but it doesn't seem to react to anything in his bio and yet is still pretty affected by killing people. So yeah dunno what he is yet. I'll look it up tomorrow when I have time.

I did found his portrait, kinda obvious but it's the male silhouette in characters_02.dds, and his name like I said is "TESTCHARACTER" in the localization files. Zooming on his face (modded), I don't think his real portrait is in the files, even the unused portraits don't look anything like him.

Now I wonder if the female silhouette isn't another test character. New challenge :steammocking:

^Another charater is "Characters/DwellerWithActions". It's very easy to find once you know an example. That's how I found out 90% of the NPC templates.

It's also a male. A hoodie man. They use the same picture. Kinda sad.

I found his localization file by your help. His name sounds like a Russian name to me.

Check my mod image roll if you like. I've photoshoped him a new look. It fits the game.Bbecause I used the original layer as its background :p

Same face, but different outfit. Hm, with the new feature from the last dlc (DwellerDisappears), we could make him change mid-game lol

And I'm not polish, but I think his name is a pun: Dragoslav + Debug = Debagoslav xD

I've already thought a new story for him. At first I would like to use them as too new characters. But I'm not sure if it's possible to let them use different portrait. If not, we can say he is a battle-wound deserter who is sick of the war. So he ran away, looking for shelter. I don't know if the day can start from outside.

As for the name, that's interesting. We should give him a new name. I'm not familiar with Polish either. I think you can do it better than me on this part.
