Can't access the workshop at all

I've never been able to get into the Workshop because of a message that says "Warning: Cannot Connect to Steam". Even though I'm obviously playing it through Steam and I don't know what it means.

I'm on an iMac, with macOS version 10.14.1, my computer's processor is a 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5, memory is shown as 8 GB 1867 MHz DDR3, and graphics are Intel Iris Pro Graphics 6200 1536 MB, if any of that will be helpful.

Thanks in advance if anyone can give some advice or answers!

How long have you had the game? I assume you have rebooted your computer at least once and tried again?

You can get this message if there are multiple copies of the game open -- or possibly if the game is stuck in the background. Rebooting the computer would resolve this problem though.
