I have put hundreds of hours into some of my builds, only to have some people downvote them.

Some people do it to elevate their stuff in the list (evil!)

Some people do it because they lost an argument with me in the forums, and downvote every build i publish (pathetic)

If you don't have anything nice to say, you should leave a thing alone.

However, far too many people and their builds aren't seen because they are quiet, and don't have many friends.

Anyone who wants me to look at their stuff, just drop me a friend invite and I will be happy to come look at your stuff.

I don't have as much time as I would like, to peruse.

I agree with both of you and have a suggestion. Why not make this your mission OP? Do a weekly post in this section of the forum with the top 5 (for example) new builds you have discovered through the week, either based on building or visiting or the workshop entry alone. Then we can come and see what you've found and enjoy and discuss them together in the thread. We might all find things that we would not otherwise have found and we can also discuss interesting features of each.

I just look daily at new stuff but OP I think it would be neat to put top 5 or so new builds up :)

A weekly top 5? That's not a bad idea at all Deadpool. @Spicy, thanks for the heads up man, I know that means a lot to people who are just starting to publish their own work.

Maybe have top 5 workshop items and a top 5 screenshots? (there are some great builders who don't submit to the workshop)
Also: how about a monthly 'Star Builder' to showcase best newcomer?

@UnluckyFriedKitten, I would love help! I'm thinking of reducing it to a top three to spread it out a bit more. I wish I had the tools and knowledge to become a youtuber and do something like this that was more visually involved, but having a weekly forum for it would be better than nothing. I'm open to having top screenshots of the week as well, so long as its centered on a build (instead of goofy things like leafi pictures).

I know the feeling I'm working on creating the actual playful corp building as realistic as I can given the blocks avail, and I know people will just be BAH Whatever, figure I'll have 200-300 hours in it when I'm done, fandom/artist's never get recogition till after they are dead :P

I wish I understood how the workshop organises its lists, my most recent build was 4th most popular (1 week) when I checked it yesterday.... about 20 mins later I checked it again -it had dropped down four and a half pages!
-and I'm fairly sure it was still getting visitors and subs, is it only 'thumbs ups' that count?

I think so , that's why I always hit that like button when I find a bp that catches my eye :)

Yeah, I would LOVE a breakdown from Playful on how workshop popularity and featured builds are calculated. The math on it seems kinda wacky x D

Was thinking about Youtubers who could help, I'm only subbed to two:
SloppyCan (who I've never seen on the forums and despite invites on YT has never visited serenity-five)
The other is Paws of Aries (CatSmiles) who would be purrfect*, she's very active and supportive in the BP comments sections

Hahaha, I've been wanting to start my own YT channel but have not yet. Perhaps just starting off with a weekly forum that features a top 3 would be a good start though.
