Why Can I Not Download This Stuff?!

Hey everyone out there in Internet Steamland. I need a little bit
of technical help if anyone is willing to give it. There are some
great resources I want to use in RPG Maker MV that I wish to
use that are from the RPG Maker VX community but when I
try to download them nothing seems to be happening. Is it because
I'm not able to download them unless I have RPG Maker VX? All I
have is MV, so maybe that's the problem. Confused...would appreciate
some help.

What are those resources exactly? And how are you downloading them? As far as I know you can just download any images or sound as a file and put it into RPGMaker(MV or VX Ace) manually.

Oh I am sorry; I was talking about
Steam Workshop games and other
things people created for RPG Maker
VX Ace.

Also buddy sounds like you're missing out.

You can download user-created games, sprites and
other files from selecting the "Community" tab at the
top of the screen and clicking on the pull-down tab
that says "Workshop"; after that all you have to do
is type in the name of the application (in this case
RPG Maker VX Ace) and click on it
when it appears in the little tab and you can then
access Workshop content and filter it by Resources,
Games, etc.

Anyway that's besides the point; I have no idea why it is that
I cannot download RPG Maker VX Ace stuff when I only have
RPG Maker MV. I'm hoping you know why. If not I'll just wait
for other people to happen along.

If you are trying to download items from Workshop, obviously you can only download those that you have game/application for. That's just is.

I thought that you're trying to download content from some community forum or something.

No, I wasn't. Also nice user picture.....
I like Sonic The Hedgehog characters
a lot. FYI you can get custom Sonic
The Hedgehog characters to use in
games from TheSpritersResource.
They even have ones of characters
not featured in any of the games,
like Sally Acorn, and all the other
Archie Comics characters.
