Seriously, this is the only way. I know you're angry and disappointed because of the workshop is downed temporarily but this issue happening all the time. It's just Valve doing a routine maintenance on their servers once per month or more. No need to start a panic riot over this!

Most companies who own websites and online services do the same thing all the time. Nothing more to just to improvise the server, adding security and more.

Just don't be so irrationally angry about this, OK? This is not the end of the world. Be patient and wait till they're done. This is not the last time Valve doing this and expect the same thing in the future. So, when the workshop server is up again soon, best to download everything you need and anything you have a bit interest at just in case. Who knows the next maintenance will happen.



If you get a popup while using SFM asking if you want to delete workshop items that are no longer available, CLICK NO!
or you'll have to resub them when they become available again.
This situation sometimes pops up when Steam takes the servers down.
