I've got a couple questions for ya, for when you might have a minute...
1. Do you happen to remember which specific sections you experienced performance issues (or was it perhaps an issue across the entire level)?
2. What GPU are you running? (I ask because I have a 1080, and if it's a matter of graphical horsepower I it might not be as apparent to me, as it would be to players with lower spec'd GPUs. ...hmmmm my wife has a 980 in her rig, and I should probably be testing these levels out on her system before uploading them.)
3. Are there any sections that you felt were more frusturating than fun? (of course some parts are obviously meant to be a little frusturating.)
I hope that in the future there might be systems in place to accommodate different game modes. Objectives, multiple flags, sequential flags, etc. I'd love to make this sort of a scavenger hunt type of level! There's a pumpkin patch nearby where I live, and they have a pretty cool corn maze where you have to find a bunch of items hidden throughout, and it's a total blast going through there with a bunch of people frantically running around. I'd love to be able to replicate that experience in Climbey!
Thanks again for checking it out, and for the feedback. I really appreciate it, man!
So questions in order:
1. Any time there was a bunch of objects in view, I would start to get frame rate issues.
2. I'm running 2 980's
3. I can't remember off the top of my head but I think for the most part the level of frustration wasn't off the charts at any one point. Navigating the maze sections was probably the least stressful if I had to pick anything out.
I think game modes would be a cool thing, like you set a time limit for the level or in between certain stages. Or have locked areas and the player has to find a key to access it. There's tons of different ways to go with this game.
Of course. Mearly an observation, not a demand. Most definitely not telling you what to do, my friend :)
