And as they are at it, they should do the same about all the restrictions they added to the game like the immunity to distance weapons from those Treasure Guardians. I understand that some people 'exploited' that to level up ships, and that exploit should be limited on official servers but they really just messed up the game for Private servers owner and Solo players.
One way to prevent the exploit would have been to set a 'soft' lock on Official servers that made those NPC immune and let them "normal" for other servers / solo players with an option in in the ini's. Another way they could have gone was to provide a lowered experience return on those thing when killed by artillery or high explosive.
Another could be adding a regressive experience bar for Ships to prevent the farming of specific 'land' npc. Or a mix of the 2 ideas, lowered exp and regressive. That way ships don't exp too fast / much on such land based NPC but are still usefull especially when one of those treasure is on such a tiny Island that you barely have any room to fight them. And that would also provide people who are more interested in the 'pirate' experience and less in the 'tamer' experience enjoy the game. That would also have provided Solo player with options to deal with those massive spawn without having to cheat their way through them. Especially when you see the "perma stun" that can happen sometimes when the NPC have the 'right' timing in their attack. Last time I saw it happen I took the time to check how long my character was perma stunned. That lasted near to a minute. Luckily as an admin to my own server I could just cheat my way through the situation but I would really have hated such a situation on an official server.
