Using 2013 HD scenarios in other versions of AoEII

Does anyone know if you can take a scenario made in AoEII HD 2013 and play it in the original CD release of AOEII: The Conquerors? I tried this, I had to rename the scenario extension to .scn so it was visible in the game scenario list but when choosing game options it freezes.

Also would a scenario made in 2013 HD work in Definitive Edition? Mine seems to, but when trying to upload it as a Mod there it fails to upload.

How do I get it to work Poison? As per my original comment, I copied the scenario I made in HD 2013 to my original retail version' scenario folder, and renamed to .scn so it's visible in the game when choosing your map. But it just freezes the interface when you try to start the game. It doesn't freeze if I play original maps.
