This is something I really doubt the devs would ever patch in. It would be cool if weapons became more imposing when you unlocked Enhanced and Mastercrafted upgrades, and had a visual sense of progression. And no I don't mean Laser and Alien weapons, just better looking projectile weapons.

Finally, I think that Epic weapons really need custom models for each gun. Instead of all being samey zap guns, some of them could be really powerful projectile weapons, others use plasma beams.
