What software is supported for making mods?

I plan on trying modding, and I would like to know what software is compatible with Megaquairum.
Also, what files do I need to mod Megaquarium, specifically, how do I get the in-game assets?
I am also interested in making mods for freshwater frenzy as well, so any info on how to make mods for that DLC would be helpful!

Also, I am unaware on how to import the vanilla FBX files into unity, I saw someone mention that unity was supported, but I couldn't get it to work.

Hey,

the software you need all rely on what you want to mod. Some mods don't require any software at all to make.

For editing 3D models, you need something like C4D, or blender. If you use blender you have to export a fbx model through C4D in order for it to work ingame.

For editing the textures, you can use paint, photoshop, whatever you like!

Unity is not needed to create mods.
