Since I came across the question “How can I download skin A, B …” quite often (and many times in the last days) I thought that maybe some kind of general explanation of how this workshop works could be a solution. Nevertheless I’m aware that most people don’t look up the discussion board in the first place but I give it a shot anyways.


As a visitor you CAN DO the following at this workshop:
Click through the 1000+ skins and find the ones you like. If you like a particular skin then hit the “Thumbs up YES”-button. If you don’t like the skin hit the “thumbs down NO”-button instead. And if you don’t know if you like this skin at the moment but want to come back and vote for it later then hit the “Ask me again later”-button.

As a visitor you CAN’T DO the following:
Download any skin which is listed under “Items”. Unless the author used the “useable workshop”-mod by Joker and provided an external download link. So read the description of the skin carefully.

And if there is a little [✓] in the title of the skin, it’s already released and available ingame/ on the steam market. If you want to see which skins are already ingame you can check out these collections:

Yes, because with your vote you can influence the Like/Dislike-Ratio of the skin. So if the skin gets enough upvotes and only a few downvotes it has a good ratio. And this means the chance for this skin is high to get into the draw for a slot in a community safe. But it is not a 100% chance. If Overkill has some issues regarding a skin even a high Like/Dislike-ratio won’t help.

TL;DR: If you want (or dont want) a skin in Payday 2, feel free to vote for it. Like in real life your vote counts. But you won’t be able to download a skin (except the author has provided an external download link).
