Study how to apply a non Steam mod to your Steam game and things might work together.
Had to ask. And okay, but last time i tried that I ended up with that stupid Arane Kae Glitch
Want to provide a step by step for that?
2. Launch the Patcher that comes with it
3. Point to the game's location*. Without Steam's TSLRCM it should be something like:
[Steam folder]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Knights of the Old Republic II
If you do have TSLRCM then you need to point the Patcher to its workshop location, that should be something like:
[Steam folder]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\workshop\content\208580\485537937
I don't use the TSLRCM+M4-78 combo mod, so I don't know the folder number for that.
* Some Patcher mods do not ask for the game's location, they look at a Windows registry entry for the location. That used to work just fine back in the day, but not by default for the Steam version. I have a guide here in the Guides section to make KotOR tool work by manually adding that registry entry, that approach should work if that's the case.
You can also just edit a file that comes with the mod so that the Patcher does ask for the game's location. A mod should contain a file "changes.ini", which is a plain text file, you can open it with a text editor like Notepad. When you do, make sure there's a line "LookupGameFolder=0" under [Settings].
I'm not even sure the Arren Kae thing is related to modding. It's wise to know how to undo things if things go wrong though. Most non Steam mods mention uninstall instructions. If you do apply a mod to the Steam TSLRCM version then unsubscribing and resubscribing to it should undo changes to it.
