Three Missions for Modders
I've got three missions for you modders out there if you feel you are up to it, some of which are harder than others.

Mission One

I've always had a problem with the station structures in this game. Being a North American player, I found that the stations' designs were too unlike stations that existed in real life, especially stations available in the late game. This is why I want you to re-create one or more major North American railway stations from major cities. Some of these may include:

Through-stations
  • Detroit's Michigan Central Station
  • Chicago's Union Station
  • Toronto's Union Station
  • Buffalo's Central Terminal
  • Winnipeg's Union Station
  • Thunder Bay's Canadian Northern Station
  • Battle Creek's Michigan Central AND Grand Trunk Stations
  • Durand Union Station
Stub-ended stations
  • New York City's Grand Central Station
  • Vancouver's Pacific Central Station
  • Los Angeles' Union Station
  • Washington D.C's Union Station
  • Ottawa's Union Station
  • Chicago's Dearborn Station

All of these stations still exist today, either serving their original purpose or have been repurposed. This means that modders can use google earth to get a good idea of what each structure looks like before creating them, which in the case of older stations, can be difficult due to a lack of pictures taken of them from different angles. Some of these stations are smaller, because this can give players the option of choosing a cheaper station with less tracks.

    Mission Two

I also didn't like the lack of cover the stations have. Many large stations in North America and in Europe have large train sheds covering the platforms AND the tracks. As a solution to this, it would be interesting if a mod were created to replace the current train sheds for more sizeable ones, preferrably matching the designs of ones found at real stations.

    Mission Three

Simply make a generic Beaux-Arts-style Station building. Specifically the kinds made from fine carved limestone. Examples of such stations include:
    • New York's Old Penn Station (Prior to its demolition)
    • New York's Grand Central Station
    • Toronto's Union Station
    • Chicago's Union Station
    • Ottawa's Union Station
    • Detroit's Michigan Central Terminal

The Beaux-Arts style of architecture was very popular in public buildings in North America, specifically in the early 20th century. Beaux-Arts architecture also brought a civic face to much of North America's railroads. I think these types of stations would bring a certain charm to our largest terminals in Transport Fever. Modders do not need to make any of these stations in particular, as long as they still follow the Beaux-Arts style. Each of these stations vary in designs to certain degrees, so it gives modders some 'room to breathe' while creating them.

I do not plan on giving out any sort of reward for the completion of any of these, however if you do choose one of these missions, your work could become a very popular addition to Transport Fever. If you give people the option, they may even donate some money to you.

Thanks for checking out my proposals :steamhappy:
