Can we get some mods going peeps?
Now i know this is abit much to ask but i feel this game lacks mods which could really improve this game. I mean it's not an amazing game but i think it deserves some real community work on it.

As i said it's abit much for me to ask but i felt like i just had to ask as a fan.

No sane person would pump dozens or hundrets of hours of modding work into this hot mess atm.
Maybe in a year.

Probably right, however big first-mover advantage if any modder wants to take the risk - they can be THE name in I:R modding before anyone else even begins and possibly even influence Dev decisionmaking. High risk but possible high reward. Sadly my tech skills lie elsewhere though...

Agree. Plus the game may get cancelled so all modding work would be wasted.
Where is your source of information about that?

My source? History. EU:Rome was cancelled after 1 DLC. From the wiki:

On November 19, 2008, the game's only expansion, Vae Victis, was released.[3] Paradox had ideas for a second expansion based around the timeline of Alexander the Great, but this was never developed
Ah yes 11 years ago, well good luck hanging in there.

Again with your narrative ? I was wondering how long it would take you to post in this thread with the same wrong assumption.

Yes, you are totally wrong comparing 2 different times with 2 different type of resources for a company that grew a lot since then.

But we all know you are doing this because you want this game to be improved.... it is just that you do not know how to express your genuine concern for this game differently :)

Why should modders bother fixing the mistakes and making up for the ineptitude of the paid devs?

Thanks random private account not owning the game for your not so insightful question.

To OP question: I think modders are likely to wait at least Q2 2020 after PDS has "completed" their ongoing plan for the game. Modding it now when they will keep adding stuff and changing other is not going to be appealing for them. Once the game is stable enough, they are likely to spend more time on it. But that is just a guess.

I'm no expert but I'm guessing as long as they keep patching like they have been the modders are waiting for a slow down in updates. Yes I know many feel the updates are not fast enough but talking from a modders perspective. Get a mod out and the next thing you know. New update. Mod doesn't work. Just guessing anyway.

Yeah, there was not a 4 day long free trial recently or anything.
Or perhaps they told you to ignore that fact in the "white knight" talking points.
Everyone that wanted to see how mediocre this game is, has seen it for themselves.

Hence the positive reviews over the last 30 days since Cicero... Yea right :) Cool story bro.

And yet the overall score is still sub 50%, nearly every 'positive' review has some form of it's good buuuuuuut: still needs work/it's buggy/it's unfinished/it lacks flavor/etc, hinging their positive rating on future improvement which is IMO a terrible way to rate a game - rate it how it IS, not how it MAY BE. And the player count is still terrible, with the free week having barely moved the needle.

Ignoring reality and the many, many flaws in Imperator because it doesn't fit with your opinion, and dismissing legitimate criticism of the game does nothing to help it get better.

The original WAS abandoned after it did not do well. It was NOT the first nor the only game Paradox has abandoned. It is naive to the extreme to believe it could not happen again. Paradox is a corporation, not your fairy godmother, and their only concern is their bottom line. I:R will be cancelled the very moment they think it has no chance of being profitable.

Dismissing someone who asks "Why should modders bother fixing the mistakes and making up for the ineptitude of the paid devs?" simply because they don't own the game does NOT in any way makes their point any less legitimate, and is simply a form of ad-hominen.

Pretty much that's all I ever see from 'fans' of the game when they respond to detractors: personal attacks and ad-hominens, NEVER actual defense of the game itself or response to the points they raise.

The thing is with a company that tends to support their games for so long would it not be ignoring reality to not factor that support into the reviews. I wonder how many of those low review scores would change them in 5 or 6 months time if they were willing to look at the game again. And how many of them never actually bought the game in the first place.

Wrong on so many level.

Regarding the claim about the first game: https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/app/859580/discussions/0/1744512393388118161/#c1744512496199529014

They had 1 team working on different project and had to make a choice.

Today they have 1 team per game... not the same way of thinking on their end.

I have not said the game is perfect and trying to put words in my mouth to try and make your points on wrong assumption is not going to work :)

There are some people here who sole idea is that the game should be abandoned by the dev and have been trying to push that narrative for some time.

Maybe for you it is not surprising to see people who do not own the game roaming endlessly (i mean really) the forums to push that narrative. But for me, I feel it is quite disturbing. I am not talking about all the people complaining on those forum, but just the very few vocals trying to push their narrative.

PDX game are highly moddable and that is one of their strength. I can totally understand why someone would ask OP question. And I already answered his question directly.
